Malaika Zweig bridges the traditional with the contemporary mind and shares intentions of exploding the figurative tradition with humor, love and the erotic inner body.


Biography

Malaika Zweig is a Los Angeles based painter. She received her BFA from the California College of the Arts in San Francisco (1999) and her MFA from the Massachusetts College of Art in Boston (2005). She also attended L’ecole des Beaux Arts for one year in 1997. Zweig has exhibited her art since 1997 and her work is held in private collections all over the US and in Paris. She had a solo exhibition in Paris at L’Atelier de la Main d’Or (2006). Zweig had a solo exhibit at JK Gallery in Culver City, CA (2008). She visited St. Barth in 2006 and was included in a group show on the island the next year. Zweig had a solo exhibit in St. Barth in April, 2009.
